The title compound, C(12)H(11)N(3)O(2), was prepared by the reaction of isonicotinohydrazide and 5-methyl-furan-2-carbalde-hyde. The pyridine ring makes a dihedral angle of 46.90â (9)° with the mean plane of the furan ring. The crystal packing is stabilized by a bifurcated inter-molecular N-Hâ¯(N,O) inter-action.
