The geometric parameters of the title compound, C(4)H(6)N(3) (+)·C(6)H(2)N(3)O(7) (-), are in the usual ranges. While two nitro groups are almost coplanar with the aromatic picrate ring [dihedral angles 3.0â (2) and 4.4â (3)°], the third is significantly twisted out of this plane [dihedral angle 46.47â (8)°]. Anions and cations are connected via N-Hâ¯O hydrogen bonds. The mol-ecules crystallize in planes parallel to (11).
